Background of the volunteer Board of Directors:

Jerry Barilla - Frank and Jerry's Furniture and Appliance, President of Historic Fort Steuben – Grand Public Relations & Fund Raising, Jerry is the owner of Frank and Jerry’s Furniture and Appliances – a business that has been in downtown Steubenville for over 50 years – and is an active cheerleader for the community.  As President of the Board of Trustees of the Old Fort Steuben Project, he is involved in the day to day operations of the Historic Fort Steuben, including taking tour groups through the Fort, planning and overseeing the Summer Concert Series, and  acting as general groundskeeper and repairman for the complex.  Jerry is also on the boards of the Public Library of Jefferson County and the Family Services Association.  He also volunteers to be co-chairman of the Steubenville Revitalization Group which is bringing new businesses and attractions to the historic downtown area.

Scott Dressel - Bayberry House Bed and Breakfast, - Grand Project Chairperson – Overall Project Coordinator for the Grand Restoration.  An attorney with over 20 years of corporate banking, advertising, marketing and historic preservation experience.  My last corporate positions were Manager of Checking and Online Banking for Checking at PNC , managing a 6 billion dollar product line with millions of customers in many states.  I have restored property in three states and seven Victorian homes in the North Fourth Street Historic District in Steubenville since 1995.   I have a BA Business Administration and a BA Political Science University of Minnesota – Duluth 1986.   I received my JD 1989 concentrating in Real Estate and Tax from the University of Minnesota Law School.  Chairman Steubenville Historic Landmarks Commission for several years now and Historic Fort Steuben Board Member, Steubenville Revitalization Group member.

Al Fenner - Bishop - The Shepherds Walk - Donor of the Grand Theater to the Project, I grew up a Baptist, saved in a Nazarene Church , became a Pentecostal preacher, and Married a Catholic.  I started in the ministry in 1960 at the age of 16 Graduated from Marysville High, Marysville, Mich. 1962.  St. Clair Com. College 1968.  GM Tech. Center 12, 1969. Pastored and Founded Several Churches, Tent Revivals for several years.  Ordained in Midway Holiness, Conyers , Ga. 1972. Ordained, New Covenant Christian Church, Erie PA. 1990.  Ordained Bishop, New Hope Restoration Revivals Inc. 1991.  Ordained Bishop, New Covenant Church , Erie PA 1999.  Ordained International Pentecostal Holiness, 2003.  Came to Steubenville , Ohio Through International Pentecostal Holiness, Okla. City , Okla. . August, 2003.  I have been an Evangelist most of my ministry.  We feel that this is one of the reasons we were sent here, to help a city in need of revival in people and buildings. We only pray that others will be willing to sacrifice and see this restoration completed. The people and the buildings are worth saving, we must pray between the porch and the altar to see this done.

Patricia Fletcher – Grand Fund Raising  

Rob Gribben - Grae-Con – Grand Structure Design and Budgeting, Rob is a Vice President for Grae-Con Construction, Inc. located in Steubenville & Marietta, Ohio.  Grae-Con is an industrial and commercial contractor that completes 50 million dollars worth of construction volume annually and employs at peak times over 200 craft workers.  For the company, Rob is in charge of business development and also serves as the chairman of the companies’ safety and TQM committees.  Along with those tasks, Rob serves as a project manager and estimator on commercial and industrial projects.  Rob is an active member in the downtown community, and serves on the Historic Fort Steuben Board, past President of the Steubenville Revitalization Group, and member of the EGCC Foundation Board.  Rob completed his bachelor degree at The Ohio State University in Construction Systems Management and Business Administration and completed his graduate studies at Youngstown State University in Civil Engineering.  Rob is a resident of Steubenville and is married to his wife Michele and has two daughters Cameron and Lauren.

Donna Hrezo – Progress Alliance  

Donna Keagler - Chairperson Fund Raising Committee I retired in 2000 from the Department of Housing & Urban Development, Management & Oversight in  Washington , DC .  Prior to that I worked for "Trammell Crow" in Dallas , Texas .  I designed, developed, built, staffed and managed a project know as "5001" for small to mid-sized companies associated with information processing in the Dallas Market Center known as "Infomart".  I developed "5001 Infomart" in 1985 and left in 1989 to do the same thing in Washington , DC .  This move lead me to HUD.  I have designed & built projects, commercial and residential, and restored three houses. 

Tim McCoy - WTOV9 – Grand Fund Raising and Publicity, Vice President and General Manager, WTOV-TV for the past 16 years. Born and raised in Steubenville , Ohio . BA in Broadcast Journalism and Telecommunications from Kent State University with a minor in Political Science. Past President of the United Way of Jefferson County and Campaign Chairman in 1999. Past President of The Steubenville Rotary Club. Chairman of fundraising for Progress Alliance 2005-2007. Current board member of The Wheeling Area Chamber of Commerce, Historic Fort Steuben and on the Board of Advisors for Franciscan University of Steubenville.

Billy Petrella -

Ed Stanislaw - Grand Restoration Coordinating Electrical, HVAC, etc. Born in McKeesport, Pa., in 1948, and have lived in Jefferson County since 1974.  EDUCATION:  Studied Civil Engineering at Penn State University (McKeesport and University Park Campus) 1966 - 1970.  Graduated with BS in Business Management from College of Steubenville 1978.  MBA from University of Steubenville 1982.  (First MBA class in the school).   RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE:  US Navy and US Navy Reserves, 7 years active duty and 19 years in the reserves, retiring as a Chief Radioman in the year 2000.  Served three years at Naval Communications Station in Morocco, North Africa, and later served as a Recruiter, and Recruiter-in-Charge of the three man Steubenville Office.  Responsible for enlistments and presenting a favorable Navy image through the four county area.  AEP Ohio Power, Steubenville and Canton Offices, retiring in May 2010.  The first 23 years were spent in Steubenville in the Marketing and Customer Services Department where we were responsible for coordinating electric service and explaining policy to all residential, commercial, industrial, and governmental customers in the local area.  This was an excellent opportunity to develop good working relationships with business personnel, contractors, and various political leaders.  Was a member of the company's speaker's bureau who would present programs of interest to various schools and other organizations.  Was actively involved in energy management programs in the division, having conducted numerous energy audits in residences and businesses in the four county area.  I  am a  Certified Residential Energy Auditor by the National Conference of States on Building Codes & Standards, and receive  certification as a Certified Energy Manager through the Association of Energy Engineers. Completed numerous GE and other lighting classes and was involved in many indoor and outdoor lighting projects in the area.  In 1989,I implemented and oversaw Ohio Power's Water Heater Rental Program in the local four county area.  Responsible for working with and training all contractors and installers.  Served three times as the company representative on the Jefferson County United Way Board, and served on the Jefferson County JVS Electrical Class Advisory Board.  Served five years on Harrison County's Economic Development CIC Board, and 18 years on the Friendship Park Advisory Board before being transferred to the Canton Office in the year 2000. While on the Park board, we were able to solicit assistance from the JVS and the Weirton National Guard in completing improvements to the park.  In the year 2000, I was transferred to the Engineering Department in Canton where I worked as the Right-of-Way Agent, responsible for obtaining right-of-way agreements for new line construction, handling customer inquiries, damage claims, and legal inquiries in a four office area.  There was a great deal of customer contact, negotiations, and attention to detail involved in the position

Melanie Van Nuys - is a native of Steubenville and known as “The Hometown Marketing Girl” – working specifically with small businesses, teaching them how to use social media to level the playing field with their big business competitors. She grew up watching the Valley thrive through downtown businesses and steel industry. Her first job out of high school was at The Creegan Company. Like so many other residents, she has watched the Valley become a shadow of its formal self. Melanie believes that Steubenville, and Jefferson County as a whole, is on the brink of a boom and wants to work to help bring it back to what it once was.

Beth Wood – Treasurer  Beth is a Steubenville native and has been the Executive Director of the Steubenville Convention and Visitors Bureau since 2001.  She is also currently serving as Director of Steubenville Murals, Inc.  She is a graduate of Bowling Green State University, with a BS in Marketing.  Beth serves as Northeastern Representative on the Ohio Travel Association Board of Directors as well as At-Large Representative on the Ohio Appalachia Country Board.  She is also a member of the Ohio Association of Convention and Visitors Bureaus and Destination Marketing Association International.   Prior to her employment with the Steubenville CVB, Beth was a Senior Marketing Representative at American Electric Power.

Les Zapor – Architect of Zapor Architects Group, Inc. has been involved with many restoration and remodeling projects.  Les was the project Architect for the remodeling of St. Peter's Church in Steubenville , Ohio .  This project received national recognition in 1995 from the Associated Builders and Contractors. The project was awarded first place for restoration projects.  The firm has been involved with several historical and restoration projects.  Restoration projects include several storefronts in Steubenville and detailed restoration drawings of the Historic Water Trough.  Zapor Architects work has also included the upgrades and arch over Historic North Fourth Street .  Zapor Architects is a full service Architectural firm and their projects have included Commercial, Industrial, Recreational, Religious, Medical, Governmental, Restaurants and Residential. The focus of their work is in the Tri-State area.

Geno Morelli – Geno was one of the initial board members and was very active with the restoration project until he passed away January 26, 2011.  Thanks and God Bless you Geno.   My interests are in land and business development and I believe that “What is good for any part of our community is good for the whole!”  Retired from Geno Morelli & Sons, Active in Local Boards, Civic and Professional Organizations.  Active in local fund raising for many years.  Serves on the following boards:  Jefferson County Education Services Center , Governing Board - 27 years.  Joint Vocational School - 26 years.  Upper Ohio Valley Opera Guild – Founding Member.  Served on:  Numerous Community Service Organizations & Boards:  American Association of School Administrators, Northeastern Ohio Educational Board Northeastern Ohio Educational Board – Served as President 2000, Northeastern Ohio Educational Board of Trustees,  Jefferson County School Board Association, Ohio School Board Association – Board of Trustees.
